Short Synopsis
A kingdom of fruits. A king with no strength to keep ruling. An orphan prince who does not accept his fate. A world at imminent risk. These are some of the ingredients of Abah, an adventure movie full of humor, in which we can follow the young Pineapple prince’s trajectory and his conflicts with his dreams and responsibilities. It is a story of acceptance and personal growth. A portrait of a brief moment of prince Abah’s life: a transition from his unripe childhood to the new colors of maturity.
Synopsis
Abáh is a young prince whose greatest desire is to be a musician. He has a disguise of a commoner who facilitates his escapes from the castle without being recognized by anyone. When he meets Ana, a young rebel who plays the drums, he sees the opportunity to form a band alongside his childhood friend Juca, a genius musician
Abah’s first turning point is the formation of his long-awaited band, along with his childhood friend Juca, a funny, insecure cashew nut and Ana, a politicized and feminist banana, who makes Abah think over his role in the kingdom. It is the first step for him to follow his childhood dream: play in the Spring Festival, the biggest event in the fruit realm, responsible for the renewal of nature.
Becoming a musician is not just a whim, it represents Abah’s search for his place in the world, as his father, King Caxi, lives in isolation in the castle, depressed ever since the Queen’s death. Music has always helped Abah deal with his loneliness, working as a bond between him and his mom, who is considered to be the best singer Pomahr has ever seen.

Abah’s band is chosen to participate in the Spring Festival which is the opportunity he’s always dreamed of; nevertheless, things do not turn out the way he expected. The king wants his son to take the crown and forbids his participation in the Festival. The prince then runs away and for the first time follows his own path.
Throughout this journey Abah gradually realizes that the life of the fruits in the rural environment is not the way he imagined. He also finds out that his father is far from being loved by his people. The prince walks along areas that were harshly affected by acts of the crown. Brazberry reserves were devastated, the river that used to irrigate the kingdom was diverted, leaving withered fruits along the way. Entire villages were ruined and their fruits had to leave the land for the sake of an alleged combat against the plague. All of these were authoritarian acts, which differ enormously from his father’s way of ruling.
The disputes in the kingdom, as well as the clues Abah finds out while following this route, seem to be linked by a common point: the plague. Behind the big walls of isolation that are apparently there to protect the population, Abah and his friends find out that the real plague is a giant Don Coconut plantation. It represents Prime Minister Don Coconut’s plan to take over power. He is the King’s right arm and the whole time he had a scheme, a “fruitcide” of large proportions to establish a perfect, unique race of Coconuts.
Determined to fight the tyrant and his huge army, Abah, Juca and Ana decide to join the rebels. As the Great Fruit Battle of the century takes place, Abah turns out to be the real leader of the Tutti Frutti Kingdom. His findings about the intricacies of the realm and all he’s learned along his journey reveal a mature Abah. In the midst of war, Abah is the only one capable of conducting the Great Spring Symphony, which for magical reasons, defeats the great impostor and villain of the story, Don Caraguatá, and his army.
The bond between Abah and his father becomes stronger. The King realizes how strict he was and Abah recognizes the importance of his quest. What about the Crown? “All power emanates from the people”, say Caxi and Abah, while they emancipate the Kingdom to establish a democratic republic, where fruits of all colors and flavours will fit.
